Nolan David-Timothy Kautz
He makes me smile every single day, makes me wonder how I got so lucky! This little boy brings so much joy to our life. Everyday is a new adventure.
This month Nolan is really starting to open up with verbal "communication". He is understanding all words, putting things we say together to do the actions, and is very "verbal" about what he wants.
He is still only saying limited words- "Byeee", "mama", "Daddy", "Hi", "Uh-oh", and a few others.
He is trying to sing - Where Is Thumbkin, Twinkle Twinkle, and Wheels On the Bus.
Growing like a weed- HOLY SMOKES. He is now officially in 2T and is getting so LONG and LEAN.
Hair- Guys my kid is no longer BALD~ The last two months its really started to come in :) Justin even wants to trim the back curls <-----NO WAY!
He is finally obsessed with the ipad--I say finally with some hesitation. It is very nice so he now has an outlet when he needs alone time...but now he loves it, and its starting to consume more of his time. Again, very nice outlet for him though.
The only show he will sit down for ( 10 min max) is Paw Patrol. Thanks to Jensen from ItsmeKassidee.
We are prepping for the Holidays at the Kautz house and have been very busy. This is truly the best time of the year.

20 Months
No more nursing!
I cannot believe this....he self weaned off and he is such a big boy now, drinking from cups, eating ALL foods, and sleeping like a champion! I am very proud of myself and my body for breastfeeding for 20 months. With Ava I made it about 8 weeks, which was fine but my goal was at least a year with Nolan. The cluster feedings, the late nights/early morning, mastitis, leaks, public feedings, pain, and everything in between was SO WORTH it.
Fun trip to Ohio- Minus red eye flight with a 1 year old and 4 year old!
Nolan is now in a great Toddler classroom for the the last couple of months and his growth has been amazing. He is a very active, "talkative", and a lovable friend.
He is trying so hard to form sentences- He still is only using a handful of words and single word sentences. He is trying his hardest to put two words together- "Bye Wa" he loves tto say inn the bathtub- "bye water".

18 months
18 months old~ A year and a half!
I love this age...I really do...they are learning so much! BUT.........this is the hardest age. I believe its one of the harder stages in life because they are active, alert, curious, emotional, learning independece...yet, they are non-verbal, confused, and not confident in their abilities. They like to work alone, when they really need assistance.
18 months- He only nurses a couple times a week...my baby has weaned himself.
He loves having his daddy put him to bed ( 7:30 pm, Justin lays him down...a few whimpers and he is out). When mommy has to put him to bed, he screams, cries, and refuses to ever fall asleep. Daddy has the magic touch
Nolan is an amazing CATCHER. Justin has taught him to catch baseballs, big balls, and all sorts of objects. When he catches the object he gets so happy!

Youtube?
YouTube- The infamous information source for so many! I LOVE it! What do I love most being able to reflect and look back on old videos. I also LOVE the fact that family from across the country can be connected and see our "daily" life's and watch Ava and Nolan grow.
Internet Safety- Is it safe to be so open? Its a risk for sure, kinda scary but I feel that I have taken a lot of safety measures to make sure not EVERYTHING is accessible.
Vlogging, who knew? It is such a "thing". Ava and I have been watching Vlogs on Youtube for over 2 years now, and we have looked up to so many Family Vlogs; Itsmekassidee, NatandWesandtherest, Itsjudytime, etc. Ava and I watch a video almost nightly and Ava has really enjoyed getting to "know" the other kids.
Am I a Vlogger- I would love to say YES. Is it fun?Of course, Is it easy?NOT AT ALL, it takes alot of time and dedication. Being a working mom or 2 doesnt leave much extra time. The most important reason I do it is for memories and for family! So, it may not be amazing quality, content, editing. etc but its real life, and I really do enjoy it.
Ive noticed since taking more videos, I have started to slack on my Blog. I still absolutely love my blog and writing down wonderful memories. Its insane though the difference two kids, a career, and a ever changing life can make on a routine of writing in a Blog. It use to be SO EASY, every Wednesday was my day, starbucks, and alone time (*Nap time, or Daddy time)...but now to juggle even an hour a week to update is pretty tricky. I dont want to get "caught up" in life though and not be able to take a moment to jot down these wonderful memories, so its my goal to find time( wake up early, stay up a little late, let the dishes sit for a little bit) and just WRITE! It feels so good once I get it all written down and accomplished and so COOL to be able to go back and reflect on the Good, Bad, and the Ugly :)

BA-bye!!! So cute with his innocent wave!
This little guy couldn't stop moving if he tried! He is always smiling and full of joy. He is eating a lot of different food varieties. He is starting to wean himself off nursing, still only night feeding/comfort nursing. He can now "jump" and loves to go up/down stairs. Nolan is a daredevil and isn't afraid of anything.

16 Month! Progression!!
WOW! This little guy is progressing SO MUCH!
Words @ 16 Months
"Dad-ee"- FOR EVERYTHING. Favorite word
"Mama"- VERY RARE
"No" - Loves to yell No at his sister
"Hi Yee"
"s-that"- Used for "Whats that?" as he points to things
Fascinated with:
Brooms- Of course
Vacuums -But NOT turned on
Phones
Waving, High fives, knuckles, and of course kisses.
We finally can officially say he is a good sleeper! He naps amazing at school, and goes to bed 7:30-8:00 pm every night and SLEEPS THROUGH THE NIGHT!!! He is still loving naps in the carseat, and only nurses at night now!
Drinking from a cup, from a straw, ect.
TEETH! At the beginning of this month he was getting two on the top and just two on the bottom. After a miserable couple of months he is now getting 6..<---Yes 6 Teeth! Poor baby. Orajel, Teething Tablets, and Ibuprophen are his friends! 2 have popped through, 4 are showing, but not yet all the way through
Hand Foot Mouth from last month is still healing...his poor feet!

Mother's Day 2016
I What a wonderful day!!
It was a great mixture of relaxation, alone time, and family time :)
My Mother's Day started Saturday night. Justin and I got to go on a long overdue date night. Casino and appetizer and drinks.
Morning started off with mommy and Ava sleeping in. We were at nana and grandpas so Grsndpa cooked us breakfast. We got cards and gifts.
My mom and I got to go to coffee, followed by mani pedis all alone:) it was so relaxing.
We then had the day at the house, laughing, relaxing, cleaning, and spending quality time all together.
I have an amazing family and I'm so lucky to have two wonderful kids to spoil me, not only on Mother's Day but everyday

Trying to catch up
How in the world do people do it? How is it possible to stay caught up with everything all the time..answer...its not! ...if people seem on top of it good for them, but they are slacking somewhere , they just hide it well! I try to cover it up, but WOWSER.... Being a wife, a mom of two, full time worker, blogger, vlogger (<-- LOL) and a social butterfly...all of this is impossible! I shouldnt say impossible..more like difficult...yet finding the balance is really what it comes down to. I am now in a new career position, Justin and I have a great routine with parenting, we have a great group of friend..now it just is about finding the balance and keeping up! Dont get me wrong, it is still going to be OH SO TRICKY but it will happen.
I have had a VERY hard time with the daily struggles and not feeling "accomplished", especially with blogging. Poor Nolan, with Ava I blogged, charted, photographed, videoed, scrapbooked EVERYTHING. With Nolan we are just doing the basics it seems and Im not okay with that. I am going to make it a PRIORITY to find the BALANCE to get my Blog going again ( in detail, with pictures. Get things recorded)
It is so important to take the time to write stuff down, to record the funny moments, to take time to appreciate the moments...because often they are all forgotten, or rushed through. I love being able to look back and see old videos of Ava, and Nolan and cherish that memory, because often it becomes a blur! How amazing is the world that we live in today that we are able to have such great capabilities to document such amazing things!
Rant over**

Traveling as a family of 4
2,034 miles...2 flights...6 hours of flights...and a WHOLE BUNCH OF LUGGAGE.
Besides the price of flights ( having to buy 3 tickets isn't super fun,but the space is amazing). I cannot believe how soon we will be buying 4 tickets. Traveling will definitely become less frequent then when it was just the two of us!
We each packed 5 outfits ( gone for 10 days) and very minimal extra...and we still had 2 checked bags, 2 carseats, a base, a carry on, a huge diaper bag, and children....NOT EASY..one word..exhausting.
Luckily our children our travel champions :) Ava is almost maybe kinda over her fear of flying. She still shakes, cries, and jumps at every change in elevation.
Nolan nursed and did amazing on both flights...but I got lucky no one sat by me and him on our second flight, he would have been in their lap!
We have had a lot of fun surrounded by the people we miss and love. We can't wait for someday they come and visit us.
We went on walks, rode horses, took family pictures, ate great food, played fun games, and much more.
Thanksgiving was celebrated at Great Grandpa Kautz's house. There were about 32 people and lots and lots of tasty food. I am so happy we were able to spend the time with Family.
We love and cherish the special memories we have visiting Great Grandpa Kautz's house in TN! It is a special time!
Here are some pictures! We were lucky and got to spend 11 straight days in TN, relaxing and spending time with family!

Ava: Tonsils and Adenoids removed.
How do you explain surgery to a 3 year old? You really can't. We started slowly talking about the dr and "surgery". Luckily we are going to Disneyland soon and were able to talk about the importance of feeling better for Disney!
Surgery was set for 630 am. Ava woke up perfect:) Happy. Calm. And relaxed. We got to the dr. Met nana and grandpa, and waited. Mommy and Ava got called back to the room where Ava was to get all dressed! Worst part of the day was having to take our doc mcstuffins Jammie's

Ava did wonderful in the pre op area, hesitant but took it all in nicely. The nurses were amazing and asked for Ava's participation for everything.
They had Ava "paint" her mask with strawberry chap stick and practice smelling the strawberry!
Ava brought her 2 friends to surgery with her. Paige and Dr. Twan. Everyone got to go for wagon rides around the pre op. Ava did so well when it was time to go back, she let the nurses drive and off she went.... What a brave girl!!
Seeing Ava in the recovery room was the worst. She tried to talk and cry for me but she couldn't. Poor thing had blood coming from her nose and she was so groggy. She ate some "slushies" and took a great nap. When she would wake up she would get very irritable and would hit me. Poor baby! Recovery lasted a few hours and off to home we went.
Nana and grandpa were life savers!! Grandpa brought over a wagon, nana made special snacks and Ava rested and relaxed. First day went amazing... First night....not to much!!! Medicine every 3 hours in the middle of the night is awful. Nana again took one for the team so I could feed Nolan and she slept with Ava. Started in her room, then the couch, and then the recliner. Poor thing couldn't breathe well.
Day four and we are on the mend. Medicine is a battle bc "it hurts her". We are thinking it stings her throat.
Diet consist of
Caprisun
7up
Pizza bites
Slurpee
Uncrustables
We have tons of Popsicles and ice cream but she's not really into it
The breathe is already getting awful, they said it will be unbearable due to the tissue in her throat.
Overall recovery has been amazing. Kids are resilient. I'm so proud of her and hope I never have to deal with another surgery
