I made it! Full term! Here's my FINAL weekly belly shot post (well, until next baby that is..either that or Ava is a week late). It's a little bittersweet actually.
When 38 weeks came and went, I honestly had no clue when or where it’d hit me but I was EXCITED that it "could be anytime". That was a good state of mind to be in. Then the contractions came in, close together and at regular intervals and I was confident real labor would follow within 1-2 days ( I was wrong). Here we are 2 weeks later "Patiently" waiting. I have gone through regular contractions, passed my plug, “cleaned out my intestines”, had a crazy nesting urge ( all one after another), packed the car and here I am again- no clue when it’ll happen lol
Doctors appointment was today. HOPEFULLY my last one EVER! She decided that baby Ava is READY to come out and is more than healthy! It was so cool because we got to have a mini ultrasound to check her position. Head is very low and the rest of her body IS CRAMMED in my belly...and I mean CRAMMED! The doctor chose to strip my membranes today (ouch) that way maybe it will trigger labor. So far it has only caused A TON of cramping and me to feel very nauseous (maybe that is a sign). She said it isn't a for sure way to get labor going but a good start. If Ava decides to be stubborn we have a NST test Tuesday and an ultrasound to check fluid levels. If she passes those tests she gets to stay in a few days longer. On Thursday I will get a Catheter placed and be induced FRIDAY! So her final day in my tummy will be NEXT FRIDAY the 17th:)
***Lets still hope the stripping of membranes worked or she chooses to come out on her own***
Final pregnancy tid-bits...
- After feeling very uncomfortable and impatient towards the end of last week, I am now feeling great and calm and ready for baby Ava to get here whenever. And if that means I have to wait until my Friday induction, that's totally fine with me now.
- It's funny because now that I am all relaxed about it, my hubby is getting anxious!!!
- Little Ava continues to be quite the mover. Limbs stick out of me every which way now and then. I'm going to miss feeling her movements inside me.
- I can't wait to see her face in person.
- Looking forward to sleep afterwards, I know that makes NO SENSE because when you have a baby you DON't SLEEP but at least when I get the chance to sleep I can sleep on my stomach and roll whatever way I want without a watermelon getting in the way :)
- Wow, I still can't believe I'm approaching the end of this pregnancy. It has FLOWN by. Seriously. Whereas I felt like I was preggo FOREVER at only 20 weeks. I will miss this feeling...till next time (HEHE)
The house is OFFICIALLY as clean as it ever will be. This week I CLEANED ALL LINENS..even in guest room. I disinfected EVERYTHING. Justin even cleaned under the fridge for me (with the help of my dad). We also changed the water filter in the fridge lol!
Put out the good labor & delivery vibes for me people! Can't wait to share the birth story with you all!
One thing I am MOST excited for is to get my WORK OUT on. Throughout this whole pregnancy I have gained roughly 30 pounds. Feels like a ton, but totally worth it. I cannot wait to take Ava on walks, go places, and hit the gym (ZUMBA and Cycling will be my best friends). My goal is to get under my pregnancy weight within a few months and eventually be even lower than my beginning weight.
This blog is LONG! I hope its the last one and that my next post is my Birth story!
