41 weeks! Who would have thought?

Here we are 41 weeks later. If you would have told me at 37 weeks I would still be pregnant I would have laughed in your face, so would my doctor. At my 36 week appointment my doctor was VERY optimistic that she would be seeing me in Labor and Delivery either that weekend or that coming week. BUT NO here we are, 4 weeks later practically, bored out of our minds. There really isn't much you can do when your 41 weeks pregnant and doctor says to stay close "just incase". So we have done what she recommended and stayed close to home. I overall feel fantastic, minus my huge belly and pelvic pain I feel awesome.

Today at our LAST weekly check up she was SHOCKED to see me, she just returned from our of town and would have sworn I would have had my baby...nope wrong again. At today's appointment we had a Non-stress test, ultrasound to check amniotic fluid and to do a weigh in.

This whole pregnancy I am proud to say I have gained close to 40 pounds. I would have stayed in 30's but baby gains ALOT of weight from week 36 and on..and when you go over do, you and baby get a lot bigger :)

The NST test was actually really fun! I am lame I know, but Justin and I are loving this whole process. The straps monitor contractions and other monitors the baby's heart beat. The green clicker in my hand is to be pushed when I felt Ava move. They look to see that her heart rate has a nice incline when she is active. They wanted to see a few nice movements from her...she started out with two good ones..then...she decided it was nap time..
So we tried ICE cold water to wake her up...Nope not this girl..still sleeping....
Five minutes later we tried juice...maybe the sugar will help? NOPE...still sleeping..

Justin was a great monitor observer :)
Her heartbeat was a nice 130-140 range. You can see on the top line this is when she was most active...then she decided the fun was over and she was going to sleep. The technician said that they can tell she is fine in there, just very crammed.

After the NST we went over for an ultrasound. I was SOOOOOOOOOO beyond excited to see our baby girl...but to my disappointment ultrasounds at 41 weeks are NO FUN :( She is so big and so crammed you couldn't even see her. You could see some organs and her rib cage but that was about it. Her head is VERY round and pretty large :) She is head down and ready to go, the ultrasound tech said she is facing sideways but she can rotate on her own before delivery.

* Do not judge this picture, When your 41 weeks you are swollen and TIRED.  I had been awake since 4am and a bit exhausted.

This is officially my last blog pregnant. Its bitter sweet but so exciting. My next blog will be my birth story and introducing little Ava to the world.

This week has been a great week, hanging with family, getting some much needed color in the pool and hanging out with my amazing husband.

Our last date as a married couple without babies will be at the Mariners game and then Justins Championship slowpitch game:) We hope that now that we have bought tickets Ava doesn't decide to come (with our luck she will). We are sitting in the kings court so it should be a lot of fun. YES I am getting kettle corn and eating ALL OF IT! Justin made sure I got an aisle seat so I can sit majority of game and have easy access to the restroom..what a good guy.

The plan for Avas birth will start Thursday at 12:30. We will go into the doctors office and have a foley bulb catheter placed into my cervix to make me dilate. I have been at 2cm for 3 weeks and ideally would like me to be 3-4 when I go in the hospital Friday. I am more nervous about this catheter than I am for Fridays big event...weird I know, but maybe because they place it and I go home for the night..that just seems weird to me.  Thursday the hospital will call us and let us know to arrive at 5:00am or 7:00 am. I am so excited to go into the hospital and know that when I leave I will be leaving with my baby!

Well there it is, my last blog pregnant..Hope you have enjoyed the last 41 weeks like I have :)
